Happy Baby and Happy Tot Recall!

This recall really bums me out. I love Happy Tot pouches. Well, Little J loves them and so do his friends! And they are so healthy so I love to give them to him for a snack. But for now we will have to stay away (I guess this is why none of us could find them lately)

Nurture Inc, Issues Voluntary Recall on Select Happytot Stage 4 and Happybaby Stage 1 & 2 Pouch Meals due to a packaging defect that could cause possible bacterial contamination.

Check it out and DON’T EAT THE POUCHES!!!

Goya Foods Recalls Dried Yellow Potato

Goya foods is recalling its Dried Yellow Potato (Papa Seca Amarilla) due to undeclared sulfites.  This product is packaged in 12 oz bags and all lots are affected. I have just been alerted about two food recalls, so here they are:

1) Nestle is withdrawing its Farinha Lactea Cereal in the United States. The cereal is produced in Brazil by Nestle Brazil and is being withdrawn due to traces of a pesticide that is not apporved for use in wheat in the United States. 2) Amy’s Kitchen, Inc. voluntarily recalls Tofu Scramble in a pocket because it contains undeclared dairy. The product comes in a frozen package  with a code that is located in white on the easy ope zipper and reads  10 H148 A, B, C, or D. Harry and David, Nonna’s Real Italiana Cuiccine Issue Allergy Allerts

Barry Callebaut USA LLC has issued an allergy alert on Kroger Value Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips. There is undisclosed milk protein in the chocolate chips.  The chocolate chips come in a 12oz package.

Another day, another food recall. Today, Russell Stover….bummmer.

Russell Stover  is issuing and allergy alert for its 2 7/8 oz boxes of Private Reserve Assorted Chocolates due to undisclosed hazelnuts. Apparently, the white chocolate piece is the one that contains the hazelnut. So, if you are out there about to eat the yummy white chocolate piece and you have a hazelnut allergy…PUT IT DOWN!

The candy was distributed to the following states and cities: Texas, California, Louisiana, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Tennessee; Southaven, Mississippi; Billings, Montana; Sparks, Nevada; and Madison Heights, Michigan.

Food Recalls – October 9,2008

I opened my email today to find that there were two new food recalls overnight! So here they are:

1.) Fatima Brothers, Inc. is recalling “Shad Raisins” due to undeclared sulfites.  The “Shad Raisins” were packaged in uncoded, 7 oz bags.  According to the FDA high levels of sulfites were found in the raisins, upon further testing.  Sulfites can cause reactions in some asthmatics and anyphylaxsis in some individuals who are allergic to sulfites.  You can return the raisins to the place you purchased them. 2.) Arnold Foods Company, Inc. Issues recall on Brownberry Whole Grains Bread 100% Whole Wheat due to undeclared nuts. The bread is 1lb 8oz and has a green twist tie with a code date of Oct 11.  The Bread may contain almonds, walnuts, and hazelnuts.
