Allergaroo…Yummy!

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009

I have tried the Allergaroo food (and so has my Little J) and boy is it good! We tried the chili mac, spaghetti and  next will be the spyglass noodles, all which are free of the top eight allergens. I was a little nervous about the chili mac because it smelled a little spicy for my Little J, but he gobbled down almost the entire bag by himself! Right now he is eating the spaghetti (and making a huge mess) which is already cut into smaller noodles so that little ones can handle it. I have taken bites of Little J’s Allergaroo and I think it is yummy!

The third greatest thing about Allergaroo (after being allergy friendly and yummy) is that it comes in cute little pouches that don’t need to be refrigerated! You just tear off the top, microwave for 40-60 seconds and then pour into a bowl and serve. It’s great for taking out with you. I am almost out of Allergaroo and am going to buy some more right now!!

Go check out the Allergaroo website here: Allergaroo

Trying to Get The Word Out

Monday, April 13th, 2009

I am always looking for new ways to promote SPEWD Free.  I want to help as many people as I possibly can so I try to get the word out….I was in my local Wal-Mart last week and noticed that they had a corkboard up. On the corkboard was a flyer for a sidewalk chalk painting class, with all the details and the cost.  I thought that maybe this would be a good place to put a flyer up. I asked to speak with the manager who promptly told me that only flyers that benifitted the community could be posted on the corkboard. I tried to explain to the manager that I wasn’t selling anything or charging to view the site….I just want to help others who have food allergies. But the answer was a resounding no, which sort of offended me. Sidewalk chalk painting class is more beneficial to the community than a website that tries to help those who suffer from food allergies?

I was at the Irvine Spectrum yesterday and saw a window that caught my attention…it was at Lululemon. The window has two manniquins that are almost naked and above them are the words “Shop Nude” I had to know what it was all about. So I went in. The salesperson nicely explained that Lululemon is opening a new online store where you can shop at home. Cute! (I LOVE Lululemon!) As I was leaving I noticed that they had a bunch of business cards and corkboards up with ads for yoga instructors, massage therapists and more. So I asked if I could leave some of my cards and after hearing what SPEWD Free was all about, the manager was more than happy to put my cards in the front row! I am so excited! By the way, if you don’t know about Lululemon and their athletic clothing check out their website here: Lululemon
