**** WARNING: THIS BLOG POSTING CONTAINS SOY ****
Ok, well the blog posting doesn’t actually contain soy, but the products contained within do.
This weekend we decided to go to Claim Jumper for dinner. At first I wasn’t sure what we would feed him. But I called ahead and found that Claim Jumper is awesome. Yes, it is a little expensive but I think it is well worth it. When we got to the restaurant I noticed that on the bottom of the menu there is small print that says to inform your server of any allergies and they will try to accommodate you. I told our server that Little J has allergies to Dairy, Eggs, and Peanuts and she suggested the barbecue chicken breast kids meal. I asked what was in the barbecue sauce and she went to the kitchen to find out. To my surprise, she returned with a bottle of the sauce for me to look at. The barbecue sauce contained soy, but no other allergens. I then asked what came on the mixed vegetables. She told me that they were usually roasted with butter but that it would be no problem to get them steamed dry. So we ordered Little J barbecue chicken, steamed veggies and apple slices. It cost about $8.00, but the portions were HUGE and we took the leftovers home for his dinner the next night. I think that Claim Jumper is a great place for anyone with food allergies, they are careful and accommodating.
