So Labor Day is around the corner. The end of summer is near. I was trying to decide what we should have for Labor Day, and then I realized, I should come up with a SPEWD Free Labor Day menu! So I did. So here is what we are having for our Labor Day celebration:

Fritas, which are yummy Cuban hamburgers

Spicy Potato Salad…to go along with the spicy burgers

Virgin Watermelon Mojitos….you can spike them if you want

and for dessert, Apple Pie (who can resist apple pie? )

Why the Cuban flavor you ask? Well two reasons. I grew up in a family influenced  by Cuban culture and I used to eat Cuban food all the time. After moving to California at age 14, I realized that there was no good Cuban food here. And even if there was good Cuban food here, it wouldn’t be SPEWD Free. So I am making my own Cuban influenced food and introducing my son to it….and maybe you too!
